FCA at the Dyck Castle "Classic Days”

  • FCA #heritage takes part in one of Germany's biggest classic car Events, held from 3 to 5 August.

  • The bond linking past and present will be represented by two cars belonging to the Arese Museo Storico #alfaromeo – La Macchina del Tempo collection and an #alfaromeo #stelvioquadrifoglio.

  • Not to mention other fine collector's models and two thrilling current cars: the Abarth #695rivale limited edition and the #Fiat #124spidersdesign.

"Classic Days", the yearly meeting dedicated to the cars of yesteryear, will be staged from August 3 to 5 at the medieval castle of Schloss Dyck, not far from Düsseldorf, Germany. #fcaheritage, the Group department dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the historic legacy of FCA's Italian brands, will be at this major #Event, with a stand exhibiting several classic models from the #alfaromeo, #Fiat and #Abarth brands.

Amongst the splendid historic cars on display will be two gems from the Museo Storico #alfaromeo in Arese, known as “La macchina del tempo”: the #33TT12 from 1975 and the #155v6tidtm built in 1993, to be driven in the parade respectively by two motorsport stars, Arturo Merzario and Christian Menzel. It was actually with Arturo Merzario at the wheel of the 33 TT12 that #alfaromeo won the World Championship for Makes in 1975.

Next to these masterpieces from the past, the first SUV in the brand's history and the fastest in its category: #alfaromeo #stelvioquadrifoglio. The stand will also feature other collector's models - the #alfaromeo Giulia Sprint Speciale from 1963, the #alfaromeo Giulia GTA from 1965 and the #Fiat 124 Sport Spider from 1969 - as well as two thrilling current cars, the #Abarth #695rivale and the #Fiat #124spidersdesign.

Alfa Romeo 33 TT 12 (1975)

Developed by the brilliant engineer Carlo Chiti, the #alfaromeo #33TT12 Telaio Tubolare debuted in Spa in 1973 and drove the brand to hammer competition at the 1975 Constructors' World Championship winning seven of the eight races on the calendar. The car stood out particularly in the Targa Florio, with Nino Vaccarella and Arturo Merzario clinching the tenth victory for #alfaromeo in the legendary #Event.

It was indeed on the roads of Sicily that #alfaromeo registered some of the finest achievements in its racing history with ten overall victories, three second places, seven third places and ten fastest laps. As well as this amazing tally, the brand also holds two records: for consecutive victories (6 wins from 1930 to 1935) and for first and second finishes in the same year (five times). This is not to mention the many class wins, with the Giulietta SZ and the Giulia GTA, TZ and TZ2.

Alfa Romeo #155v6tidtm (1993)

The famous #alfaromeo 155 V6 Ti DMT competed in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft (DTM), by far the most prestigious touring car racing championship of the period, in the early nineties. At first, all competitors were exclusively German until 1993, when #alfaromeo decided to take part officially with the 155 V6 Ti driven by Alessandro Nannini and Nicola Larini and other cars entered by semi-official teams.

The debut was resounding: the 155 V6 Ti won both rounds in the first race in Zolder (Belgium). By the end of the season, Larini had won no fewer than 10 out of 20 races, which added to Nannini's two wins and the many podiums and good standings of the two Italians, secured the Constructors title for #alfaromeo and the Drivers title for Larini. It was nothing short of a shock for the Germans, who reluctantly accepted that the top level 1993 DTM championship had gone to an Italian brand in the year of its debut.

Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio

Extreme performance and leading-edge technology are unmistakably conveyed by the unique style of #stelvioquadrifoglio, the finest expression of Italian design, interpreted with Alfa Romeo's unique flair and the perfect synergy of form and function, in a sensual, muscular car body. This is not all: #stelvioquadrifoglio has many class-topping features, making it the benchmark in the premium compact SUV segment, and last September it set the new record for its class on the iconic Nürburgring circuit: 7 minutes 51.7 seconds. #stelvioquadrifoglio is equipped with the exclusive aluminium 2.9 V6 Bi-Turbo petrol engine, which delivers maximum power of 510 HP and generates a maximum torque of 600 Nm. This power plant is teamed with the specifically calibrated eight-speed automatic transmission that allows gear shifts in just 150 milliseconds in Race driving mode. Its performance is outstanding: acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds and best-in-class top speed of 283 km/h. But the #alfaromeo sports SUV is also incredibly efficient in terms of emission and fuel consumption, thanks to its electronically controlled cylinder deactivation system and the "sailing" function, available in Advanced Efficiency mode. And for the first time, the 510 HP 2.9 V6 Bi-Turbo petrol engine is combined with the innovative Q4 all-wheel drive system, with its guarantees of unbeatable performance, traction, driving pleasure and safety in all situations.

Abarth 695 Rivale

Abarth #695rivale brings together two Italian brands with a shared excellence in technology, innovation, attention to every detail and outstanding performances: #Abarth and Riva, the historic, world-famous yacht builder, famed for its Italian elegance and style, which has helped to create the most refined #Abarth ever #Abarth #695rivale is as elegant and unique as a Riva motor yacht and delivers outstanding performances, like every #Abarth special series. Available in a limited edition in sedan and convertible version, the #Abarth #695rivale can be recognised by its exclusive livery: two-tone paintwork in Riva Evening Blue and Shark Grey, with the delightful touch of two aquamarine stripes running around the waistrail, similar to the "beauty line" that appears on yachts. The satin chrome finish on the door handles, the “695 Rivale” signature on the tailgate and rear wings, and the satin chrome moulding on the tailgate that recalls the sophisticated forms of a yacht, all make this model even more unmistakable, thanks to the stylistic affinity with the side view of the new Riva yachts. All this glamour goes hand-in-hand with the usual striving for the best performances through the constant technical upgrading found in every #Abarth car: under the bonnet of the #695rivale lurks a 1368 cc engine providing a maximum power of 180 HP and a torque of 250 Nm. The weight-to-power ratio of #695rivale is worthy of a real supercar (5.8 kg/HP with a weight of 1045 kg) and the performance is stunning: top speed of 225 km/h and just 6.7" to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h. In other words, a car that will delight the most discerning customers, in search of elegance, sophistication and performance.
