A weekend rich with victories and podium places for the METZELER brand,
with the riders Steve Holcombe, Alex Salvini, Loic Larrieu, Emanuele Facchetti
and Andrea Verona competing in the fifth round of the Enduro World Championship
which took place on the METZELER Offroad Park racetrack in Pietramurata
Pietramurata (Italy) 2 July 2018 - The wonderful permanent racetrack at the METZELER Offroad Park in Pietramurata, just a few kilometres from the northern tip of Lake Garda, played host to the
fifth round of the FIM EnduroGP World Championship. The Trentino GP took place over just one day of races, and as usual there was no lack of successes for
METZELER and the riders sponsored by the tyre brand.
The
METZELER riders continue to dominate the
FIM EnduroGP World Championship, and in the Trentino GP the most prominent figures were
Alex Salvini (Team JET Zanardo),
Steve Holcombe (Team Beta Factory Enduro) and Loic Larrieu (Outsiders Yamaha Official Enduro Team). The Bologna-born rider led in the
Enduro GP and re-enforced his position as leader in the Premier class. He was the protagonist of an exciting battle which lasted the entire weekend against his ex-team mate
Steve Holcombe, fitted with
METZELER MCE 6 DAYS EXTREME tyres, who currently holds second place overall.
Loic Larrieu completed an all-
METZELER podium in the Enduro GP.
It was not, however, a GP to be remembered for
Jamie McCanney in the E1 class, as the English rider from the
Team Yamaha Outsider had a serious fall during the Enduro Test and was forced to withdraw.
In the
E2 class, two riders fitted with
METZELER tyres were among the prominent figures in the Trentino GP.
Alex Salvini and
Loic Larrieu dominated the Premier class, but the real star of the show was the Bologna-born rider.
Loic Larrieu,
second in the class, won all three legs of cross.
A splendid victory in the
E3 class for the METZELER-supported rider Steve Holcombe.
The rider for
the Beta Factory Enduro Team continued to affirm his role as class leader with a consistent lead over Christophe Nambotin and his compatriot Danny McCanney.
It was also an excellent weekend of races for
Andrea Verona and
Emanuele Facchetti, with their first World Championship podium
, both performing well in the
Junior class with
METZELER MCE 6 DAYS EXTREME tyres.
The
FIM EnduroGP World Championship will now take a long break, to return to the racetrack on 31 August, 1 and 2 September in Edolo for the Italian GP.
