Abarth 124 rally Seeking More Wins in Europe

  • Three crews will be #racing in Slovenia, Czech Republic and San Marino.
  • Andrea Nucita (ITA) and Marco Vozzo (ITA) are daring to go for overall first in the Zelezniki Rally.
  • Martin Rada (CZE) and Jaroslav Jugas (CZE) are entering the Bohemia Rally.
  • The Italian crew formed by Andrea Modanesi and Roberto Mometti will be taking on the dirt roads of the San Marino Rally in the Italian Championship.

Three #abarth 124 rally cars will be competing in three different countries - Slovenia, Czech Republic and San Marino - this weekend for the #abarth 124 rally Selenia International Challenge, that until now has allowed its drivers to grasp 15 wins in the FIA R-GT Cup and in eight national championships.

In Slovenia, the Bernini Rally Team will be lining up the Italian duo Andrea Nucita and Marco Vozzo for the Zelezniki Rally, while the Agrotec Czech #abarth Team will be entering the Bohemia Rally in the Czech Republic with Martin Rada (CZE) and Jaroslav Jugas (CZE). Young driver Andrea Modanesi (ITA) will be competing with Roberto Mometti in the San Marino Rally, valid for the Italian Championship.

Excitement is running high for Nucita in the race valid for the Slovenian Championship after the striking result achieved in the Vipavska Rally in which he was third overall and first in the 2WD class and in the R-GT category and even scored the best overall time in the last special stage. The landscape will be very different this time. The Zelezniki Rally is staged north of Ljubljana, on the border with Italy, on typically Alpine roads. Two race days are in hold. The two special stage-show events starting on Friday, June 29, at 6:30 p.m. will be a taster for the tough leg on the following day, when the contenders will take on a 271-kilometre-long course, with 10 special stages, for a total of 97 kilometres of timed trials. They will set off at 8 o'clock in the morning and arrive at 8:17 in the evening.

The mountains will also be the stage in Bohemia for the #abarth 124 rally driven by Martin Rada (CZE) and Jaroslav Jugas (CZE), the crew that starred in the Czech Republic Rally. There will be two legs. The first on Saturday, June 30 starting from Cechova at 9:30 a.m. and ending at 8:04 p.m. The second will start on Sunday, July 1 at 8:15 in the morning and end at 2:50 in the afternoon. The rally will consist of 15 special stages in total, with a total of 159 kilometres of time trials out of a total course of 547 kilometres.

The San Marino Rally, in which Andrea Modanesi will be competing, will be on dirt roads instead of the tarmac of the first two. It will be interesting because the young Italian is #racing on dirt for the first time. The #abarth 124 rally has already shown its worth on slippery surfaces with the excellent result achieved by Florin Ticescu (ROM) and Alina Pop in the fast Arad Rally, valid for the Romania Championship. The San Marino Rally, on the other hand, is very bendy and known to be very testing on drivers and cars alike. The first leg will start on Friday, 29 June at 2:30 p.m. and end at 11:45 p.m. The second and last leg will be held on Saturday, June 30 from 8:45 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. There will be 13 special stages (120 kilometres in total), on the 593-kilometre total course.
