Abarth Shines in the Syntium Rally in the Czech Republic and on the Misano World Circuit in the Selenia Trophy and F4 Championship

  • Excellent performance of the #abarth 124 rally driven by Martin Rada and Jaroslav Jugas in the Czech Republic.
  • The #abarth Selenia Trophy is as exciting as ever with three winners in the three races - Barberini (ITA), Mabellini (ITA) and Pajuranta (FIN).
  • Hat trick by Enzo Fittipaldi (BRA) in the three races of the #italianf4championship powered by #abarth. The Brazilian is now in the lead with one point over runner-up Lorandi from Italy.

It was a spectacular few days for the #abarth 124 rally in the Syntium Rally, in the Czech Republic, and on the Misano World Circuit, where six exciting #abarth races were held during the ACI #racing Weekend. All eyes were on the #abarth 695 Assetto Corse Evoluzione, the #abarth 500 Assetto Corse and the F4 Tatuus single-seaters powered by #abarth T-Jet engines.
Excellent performance of the Agrotec Team #abarth 124 rally in the Syntium Rally in the Czech Republic, driven by Martin Rada (CZE) and Jaroslav Jugas (CZE), who ended the first leg in second place in the R-GT ranking but were regretfully forced to pull out later on. The race was particularly challenging but equally promising for the many dirt roads alternating with special stages on tarmac, which have always been the ideal terrain for enhancing the features of the #abarth 124 rally. The car is equipped with a sophisticated electronic traction and power delivery control system that allowed drivers to adjust the parameters for each special stage and find the best solution for all terrain.
Not by chance, the #abarth 124 rally tends to score its best performance on the toughest terrain, like on the snow and ice of the Monte Carlo Rally where Andrea Nucita did the overall fourth best time - reasserting himself as a WRC contender for the championship title - precisely in the timed stage with the most snow. The car combines state-of-the-art technology and exciting rear-wheel drive to secure thrills for drivers and spectators alike.

Abarth Selenia Trophy in Misano Adriatico

There were three different winners in the three rounds of the #abarth Selenia Trophy on the Misano Adriatico circuit. Cosimo Barberini (ITA) took the first, Andrea Mabellini (ITA) the second, with the final round going to Finn Juuso Pajuranta. The third round was held to make up for the one cancelled by organisers during the weekend in Le Castellet, France due to bad weather.
During the first race, staged during the night on Saturday June 16, Pajuranta and Barberini fought it out in a sequence of passes and chases with the Italian prevailing only at the very end. Mabellini came third, just behind the first two.
Race2 started on Sunday morning with positions reversed (the first classified in Race1 started from the eighth position on the grid) forcing the defending champion and 2018 scoreboard leader to stage several daring overtakes and gain the lead already at the end of the first lap. He held the first position to the finish line, while Mabellini made his way up through the ranks and ended second. At the end of the race, the organisers slapped Barberini with a penalty that made him slip back to second place, allowing young driver Mabellini to win his first ever first place.
Race2 - which was originally scheduled to be held on the Paul Ricard Circuit in Le Castellet, France - was made up at 6 p.m. on Sunday. Appelqvist, Pajuranta, Volpato and Barberini put up a fierce fight straight off the bat. Barberini punctured and was forced to pull out allowing Pajuranta to win ahead of Appelqvist and Volpato.
Barberini is still leading the #trofeoabarthselenia general ranking with 121 points, followed by Mabellini and Pajuranta, with 92 points each.
One-two win for young promise Filippo Lazzaroni (ITA) in the #abarth 500 Assetto Corse category, ahead of Aurora Coria (ITA), who is leading the women's scoreboard.
The event was attended by many #abarth local club and the Scorpionship members who during the entire weekend animated the #abarth hospitality following the trophy teams and drivers and enjoying the pre-race atmosphere on the pit-lane. The public also took advantage of the opportunity to test drive the street-legal #abarth 695 Competizione and #124spider on the track named after Marco Simoncelli.
The next appointment with the #abarth Selenia Trophy will be in Mugello on July 15.

Hat trick for Enzo Fittipaldi in the #italianf4championship powered by Abarth

It was a red-letter day for young driver Enzo Fittipaldi (BRA), who scored three well-deserved wins on the fourth day of the #italianf4championship powered by #abarth season. He is now leading the scoreboard with runner-up Lorenzo Lorandi lagging just one point behind. Lorandi came second and fourth.
Fittipaldi set off from the pole position in Race1 and held the lead to the finish with Petr Ptacek from the Czech Republic second and Ian Rodiguez from Guatemala third. The first three positions were the same in Race2, while Lorandi was competitive again in the first round and finished second followed by Ptacek.
"After having been forced to pull out twice in Monza I just had to win here and I was particularly at ease on this track", Enzo Fittipaldi declared at the end of the weekend. "I am now one of the front runners in the championship but Lorandi is very strong".
The next dates in the calendar of the #italianf4championship powered by #abarth will be in Imola on July 29.
