Comunicato Stampa disponibile solo in lingua originale.

Exclusively and for the first time, there is an introductory programme for the 24th International #festival of Animated #film Stuttgart (ICFS) in the #mercedesbenz Museum. The Family Sunday on 30 April includes a cartoon workshop from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and screening of the stop-motion films "My Life as a Zucchini" at 2:00 p.m., followed by workshops. Both are aimed at children aged 6 years or more. The #festival itself will be held from 2 to 7 May 2017. The #mercedesbenz Museum will be taking part on Stuttgart's Schlossplatz with exciting workshops and interactive attractions.

Stuttgart. Arouse interest and curiosity for plenty of cartoon #film enjoyment: that is what the #mercedesbenz Museum will set out to do with the Family Sunday on 30 April, ahead of ICFS 2017. The #event is a continuation of the partnership with the #festival of Animated #film formed in 2011, and has the title "Tricks for Kids in the #mercedesbenz Museum".

The day will begin with a workshop from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., covering the basics of cartoon-making. Here the children aged from 6 upwards will explore the path from the storyboard to producing their own cartoon with imagination, storytelling and creativity. The entry fee for the workshop is € 7, with online reservation possible atwww.itfs.de/tickets.

From 2:00 p.m. the focus is on the Oscar-nominated cartoon "My Life as a Zucchini". The screening of this 66-minute #film by director Claude Barras will be followed by various workshops on sound design, music and animation. All children aged 6 years or more are welcome to take part: the #film and workshops are free of charge. With a sure-footed and scurrile comic touch, the #film tells a story of solidarity between orphaned children. The cartoon workshops are a very apt addition to the permanent, interactive exhibition "Fascination of Design" that takes place for young visitors to the #mercedesbenz Museum every weekend.

During the ICFS, on 4 and 5 May from 10:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., the 'Dwarf Show' will be held for kindergarten groups in the grand hall of the Museum. The programme includes model-making exercises and cartoons that have been specially selected for visitors aged 4 to 7 years as the target group. Kindergartens can make reservations for their groups directly in the Museum.

During the entire #festival week (2 to 7 May), the #mercedesbenz Museum will have a presence in Stuttgart's inner city: There will be workshops and interactive events for kids in the #festival Garden between Königstrasse and Schlossplatz. From Tuesday to Friday the programme starts at 3.00 p.m. and 4.30 p.m., and at the weekend also at 1:30 p.m.

First held in 1982, the ICFS has developed into one of the world's most important events dedicated to cartoons as an art form. In past years, over 80,000 visitors have watched more than 1,000 films in over 200 individual events. The #mercedesbenz Museum has been the venue for the #festival since 2011, and a premium sponsor since 2012.

The #mercedesbenz Museum is open Tuesday to Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The ticket counter always closes at 5 pm. Registration, reservations and latest information: Monday to Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. by phone on +49 (0)711 173 0000, by email to classic@daimler.com or online at: www.mercedes-benz.com/museum
