Peugeot presents its 2017 range of e-bikes

Comunicato Stampa disponibile solo in lingua originale.

Peugeot e-bikes, or electrically-assisted bicycles, are a key feature of the brand's sustainable #mobility range. Practical, economical, and environmentally friendly, these bicycles have been designed using all of Peugeot's Cycles 130+ years of expertise. They are distributed through the Cycleurope network and at certain #peugeot Automobiles points of sale. With range of more than ten models of e-bike, #peugeot assures that there is one for every budget and every purpose. Three of them are in the spotlight at Peugeot's booth at the 2017 Geneva International Motor Show.

Peugeot e-bikes, for modern, original transport

Peugeot e-bikes make #mobility active, economical, and environmentally friendly. Depending on the model, three to five levels of electric assistance modulate the effort required to pedal. Some models are also equipped a walk- assist feature, which makes it easier to walk next to and push the bicycle, up to a speed of six kilometres per hour. It costs around €0.05 for 100 kilometres to use an e-bike. The lithium-ion batteries provide a range of 30 to 145 kilometres**. The batteries charge to 80% within one to two hours*.

Peugeot e-bikes feature mature technology. The brand has been designing bicycles since 1882, and the #peugeot range of e-bikes was launched in 2009. The reliability and quality of its services have been tested by many companies, including La Poste, France's postal service. #peugeot e-bikes are assembled and distributed in France by Cycleurope.

A 2017 range of #peugeot e-bikes for every budget and every purpose

Every bicycle is designated according to its use (urban, hybrid, or all-terrain) and its range level.

Some models are already becoming iconic. The bestselling eC03 D7 offers an entry point into the world of #peugeot e-bikes. The eC01, a practical choice, has a version that comes with automatic transmission. For urban use, the #peugeot Design Lab developed the AE21, a compact and ergonomic design, as well as the innovative eF01, an folding e-bike which can fold up in less than ten seconds. An alternative to scooters, the eU01s and eM02s are speedbikes that reach up to 45 kilometres per hour and are subject to 50cc scooter legislation.

Peugeot: a comprehensive offering for electric mobility

Peugeot is the only brand in the world that markets a comprehensive range of sustainable #mobility products. #peugeot e-bikes, the e-Kick scooter, the GenZe scooter, the urban iOn saloon, the new #peugeot Partner Tepee, and the Partner van are all electric. The new folding eF01 e-bike and the new electric-assist e-Kick scooter can be recharged in the boot of a car, including in the new #peugeot 3008 and 5008. These #mobility options are perfect for travelling the last few kilometres in the city after parking the car.

With its 2017 range, #peugeot has affirmed its presence on the e-bike market. Electric-assist bicycle sales have doubled over the last four years, reaching nearly 110,000 units sold in 2016. Municipal subsidies, which cover up to 33% of the price of an electric-assist bicycle, as well as national subsidies, which are capped at €200, are expected to stimulate the market.
