Jaguar Land Rover reports U.S. sales for april 2016

(MAHWAH, NJ) - May 3, 2016 -- #jaguarlandrover North America today reported April 2016 U.S. sales: Land Rover sales reached 5,188 units, a 2 percent decrease from 5,311 units in April 2015; Jaguar sales were 1,087 units, a 1 percent increase from 1,079 units in April 2015. #jaguarlandrover North America April U.S. sales for both brands hit 6,275 units, a 2 percent decrease from 6,390 units in April 2015.

Year-to-date in 2016, #jaguarlandrover U.S. sales are 32,077 units sold, up 16 percent from 2015. For the full year 2015, #jaguarlandrover U.S. sales were up 26 percent with 85,048 units sold compared to 67,238 units sold in 2014.

"In April #jaguarlandrover had its second best Land Rover month ever and maintained our growth with Jaguar as we prepare for the spring launch of the Jaguar XE and F-PACE, which start reaching showrooms later in May," said Joe Eberhardt, President and CEO, #jaguarlandrover, North America, LLC. 

U.S. BRAND HIGHLIGHTS

Land Rover

For the month of April, Land Rover sales hit 5,188 units sold in the U.S., the second highest April sales total ever and a slight decrease versus 2015. April of 2015 was the highest April sales in Land Rover's history in the United States.

Year-to-date 2016, Land Rover brand in the U.S. is up 17 percent compared to the record-setting 2015 pace.

The 2016 Land Rover model line-up features five models: The Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque, both powered by 240-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter engines; the LR4, powered by a 340-hp supercharged V6 engine; and the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport available with five powertrain options - a 340-hp supercharged V6 petrol, a 380-hp supercharged V6 petrol, a 510-hp supercharged V8 petrol, a 550-hp supercharged V8 petrol and a new 254-hp turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 diesel.

Jaguar

For the month of April, Jaguar sales were 1,087 units, a 1 percent increase versus April 2015. The F-TYPE had its best ever April sales month with 295 units sold, an 8 percent increase vs. 274 units in April 2015. The all new Jaguar XF increased 5 percent to 506 units vs. 484 in April, 2015.

Year-to-date, Jaguar brand in the U.S. is up 12 percent in 2016 compared to 2015, with increases in the XF, XJ and F-TYPE models.

The 2016 Jaguar line-up features three models. Receiving its mid-cycle refresh for 2016, the full-size Jaguar XJ sedan, available with three powertrain options - a 340-HP supercharged V6, a 470-hp supercharged V8 and a 550-hp supercharged V8 - is offered in both standard and long wheelbase lengths in both rear- and all-wheel drive configurations. Completely redesigned for the 2016 model year, the mid-size Jaguar XF sedan is offered with two supercharged V6 powertrains producing 340- and 380-hp and is available with rear- or all-wheel drive. The 2016 Jaguar F-TYPE is newly available with options of all-wheel drive and a manual transmission. Available powertrains include two supercharged V6 engines producing 340- and 380-hp and a 550-hp supercharged V8 all available in both in coupe and convertible body styles across four trim levels. 

Starting with 2016 model year vehicles, the Jaguar brand will have an improved competitive value position via steps such as increased standard equipment or new lower MSRP choices by model. Also starting in model year 2016, all Jaguar models will come standard with Jaguar EliteCare, an ownership package with class-leading five-years or 60,000-mile warranty, complimentary scheduled maintenance coverage, roadside assistance and Jaguar InControl® Protect & RemoteTM2. Beginning in the spring of 2016, the Jaguar brand value story further transforms with two new entry luxury vehicles, the 2017 Jaguar XE compact luxury sedan, starting at $34,9001, and the 2017 Jaguar F-PACE compact luxury SUV, starting at $40,9901.
