2016 #nissan #gtrnismo also unveiled, signaling market launch of the fastest GT-R yet

MISSISSAUGA, ONT. – Today at the Canadian International #auto Show (CIAS), the #nissan booth was an assembly of warrior-like proportions as the fastest-growing automotive brand in Canada joined forces with the Canadian Football League (CFL) to unveil the #titanwarrior Concept. In recognition of its longstanding partnership with the CFL, #nissan welcomed Kate Beirness, TSN SportsCentre Anchor, and nine players representing all CFL teams who collectively tore the wraps off the extreme, off-road pickup truck concept. #nissan also announced the Canadian launch of the vehicle that holds the volume production car lap record at the Nürburgring Nordschliefe, the 2016 #nissan GT-R NISMO*.

"We are entering the 10th year of #nissan being the official vehicle provider to the CFL and we are thrilled to have the CFL Commissioner, Mr. Jeffrey L. Orridge and nine players from all the different teams with us to unveil the #titanwarrior Concept," said Steve Rhind, director of marketing, #nissan Canada Inc. "In signature #nissan style, but with an unique twist thanks to the CFL's participation; we put on a visually spectacular show for our press conference attendees. The #event encapsulated our two brand's respective 'Warrior' spirit, and accomplished our goals to provide excitement for fans and customers."

TITAN Warrior Concept - a Warrior unleashed
Inspired by Nissan's rich off-road history, which goes back to the days of the Paris-Dakar Rally treks, the #titanwarrior Concept is the ultimate truck for adventure-seekers that puts an emphasis on the start of sales of Nissan's all-new 2016 TITAN XD. The same design team behind the TITAN XD Crew Cab maintained the truck's standard wheelbase and length, but they wanted to give the concept truck an even more powerful presence than the original.

The height was raised nearly three inches, from 78.7 inches to 81.5 inches, to fit a quartet of 37-inch tall off-road tires mounted on custom 18x9.5-inch aluminum-alloy wheels. The #titanwarrior Concept's width was extended three inches on each side, from 80.6 inches total to 86.6 inches. The grille and signature TITAN headlights were enhanced to offer a more technical, menacing look. The front and rear fenders have been flared and offer an extremely muscular appearance. Functional hood vents were added for cooling the powerful diesel engine. The broad hoodline is balanced underneath by the large front skidplate, which interlocks into the powerful front bumper.

Custom LED lights, front and rear, add to the #titanwarrior Concept's stealthy presence. The headlights carry a sense of the new #nissan signature boomerang lights, but with a more precise, upright, robotic feel. In the rear, the integrated LED taillights take the form of a TITAN "T" logo, split by the wide tailgate. As a finishing touch, a quad-tipped exhaust system is integrated into the rear bumper.

"The #titanwarrior Concept is not just a design exercise, it's a tangible expression of Nissan's 'no boundaries' mindset, and underscores our commitment to the North American truck market. While #nissan still has many roads and trails to travel as we continue to launch additional production versions of our bold new TITAN, this new #titanwarrior Concept gives an important signal to truck enthusiasts who visit the Toronto #auto Show that our vision for exploring new boundaries remains strong," concluded Rhind.

2016 #nissan #gtrnismo – flagship of the NISMO lineup
For 2016, the #nissan #gtrnismo takes the "standard" GT-R, which is already established as one of the best performing supercars in the automotive sphere, to an even higher level of street-legal driving excitement. It features exclusive styling that embraces the longstanding racing philosophy of form following function, and has numerous motorsports-inspired technologies to enhance the car's performance, creating a well-balanced machine that is at home on both the road and track.

The 2016 #nissan #gtrnismo employs innovation, uncompromising engineering and motorsports-inspired technologies to achieve its exceptional levels of power, speed and handling. Under the hood, the 3.8-litre V6 VR38DETT engine benefits from the expertise that NISMO has gained from participating in motorsports events around the globe. Engine power has been increased (versus standard GT-R models) and is rated at 600 hp and 481 lb-ft of torque**. High-flow, large diameter turbochargers, used in GT3 competition, improve breathing, while optimized individual ignition timing control for each cylinder and upgraded fuel pump improve combustion.

"The 2016 #nissan #gtrnismo is the most potent production vehicle #nissan has ever made and is the epitome of high-performance driving," said Steve Rhind, director of marketing, #nissan Canada Inc. "For over 50 years, NISMO has been a well-known name world-wide and with the introduction of the 2016 #gtrnismo, it will continue to build on its legendary reputation."

Available in very limited numbers in Canada, the #gtrnismo joins the established 2016 GT-R Premium and GT-R Black Edition vehicles in the GT-R lineup.
