Spotlight on CITROËN JUMPY “LA POSTE”: the 2,500,000th vehicle built at the Sevelnord plant

Today, the PSA Peugeot CITROËN plant in Sevelnord is celebrating the assembly of its 2,500,000th vehicle. To mark the event, the brand presented VEHIPOSTE with the keys to a CITROËN JUMPY (Dispatch), a mainstay of the LCV range. VEHIPOSTE has worked with CITROËN for almost ten years. Over the past five years, the brand has built almost 25,000 vehicles for the company, a subsidiary of the French post office.

To mark the production of its 2,500,000th vehicle, the Sevelnord plant is presenting the keys of a CITROËN JUMPY to VEHIPOSTE, a customer of the CITROËN brand for almost ten years. This delivery is part of a contract for 1,200 vehicles over two years.

This cooperation illustrates CITROËN’s ability to adapt to customer specifications. To meet the requirements of LA POSTE, the French post office, engineers at the Sevelnord plant worked with Faurecia to co-develop two types of vehicle for the VEHIPOSTE fleet: “glazed” vehicles for carrying letters and “panel” vehicles for carrying parcels.

These vehicles are equipped with specific seats meeting the ergonomic requirements of LA POSTE, developed and produced by PSA Peugeot Citroën Group staff.

Alongside the design of special new seating, the site conducts eleven customisation operations on VEHIPOSTE vehicles, including a speed restriction of 110 kph, the integration of an eco-driving and geolocation module on glazed versions, and special hinges.

Built in more than 530,000 examples since its first launch in 1995, the CITROËN JUMPY is an ergonomic LCV with optimised load capacity. VEHIPOSTE chose Jumpy for its modular design, onboard comfort and driveability. Robust and easy to handle, it is perfectly suited to the special needs of postal distribution. Recognised as a dynamic, versatile vehicle, it adapts to all situations with a capacity of up to 7 m3, a range of driving aids and easy loading with its sliding side doors and rear doors opening to 180°. With more than 3,500 LCV registrations at end-May 2015, the CITROËN JUMPY is increasing sales on 2014.
