Three new victories for our Sherco Team riders!

This weekend, the Sherco Factory Racing Team riders took part in several events that were spread across Europe: the second round of the X-trial World Championship, the opening round of the Spanish Enduro Championship, the Portuguese Enduro Championship, and the French regional Cup.

Antoine Magain took the lead in the Spanish championship in category E3, Jérémy Sydow crushes the competition in Germany and Zach Pichon wins the scratch ranking in France!

X-Trial World Championship:

This past Friday the French town of Chalon-sur-Saône hosted the second round of the FIM X-Trial World Championship. This was the second time that Chalon and Burgundy organized a round of the prestigious Indoor Trial World Championship.

Benoit Bincaz took fifth place. He had a very good second round, he tied with Toby Martyn. He was handicapped by the 10 points he accumulated on the first lap, he finished just ahead of his new teammate, Adam Raga. Adam, who finished sixth, also made some mistakes in the first lap which earned him 12 penalty points. The competition in this championship is very tough, the slightest error, the slightest point lost against an opponent costs dearly in the overall ranking.

Provisional ranking of the X-Trial World Championship:

Adam Raga P5

Benoit Bincaz P7

Our riders will compete again next weekend with the third round of the World X-Trial championship, in Nice France.

Adam Raga

"The race didn't go as I hoped due to an error made in the first lap which cost me dearly. I lost a few places but the feelings on the bike were good. Now I have to be consistent and avoid mistakes during the next races."

Benoit Bincaz

"I finished 5th and was happy with my riding throughout the evening. A big thank you to the public for your support. I'm very motivated and can't wait to be in Nice on Friday for another race!"

Spanish Enduro Championship:

This past weekend the town of Antas (Almeria) hosted the opening round of the 2024 Spanish Enduro Championship

The event took place on a course which included three special stages laid out on a terrain that was very dry and rocky where the difficulties were intensified by the fesh-fesh (fine powder like dust). The riders had to complete three laps.

On Friday evening, our Belgian rider Antoine Magain achieved the fourth best scratch time of the Prologue.

The following days, despite the terrain that was not to his advantage and racing in the E3 category in which he has been very successful this year, the Belgian rider delivered a very good performance.

After nine stages, he finished the first day in seventh overall and third in E3, with a final time very close to second. On Sunday, he improved his times. He won the E3 category and finished third in the scratch standings. In the end, he took the lead in the Spanish Enduro championship in the E3 category.

The Spanish rider Bernat Cortés, who was making his debut with the Sherco team in the E1 class, finished fourth on Saturday and Sunday.

The next event will take place in Santiago de Compostela on April 27 and 28.

Antoine Magain : "The race on Saturday was complicated, I fell right at the start of the day, and I was not able to catch up. On Sunday, I had a much better day, although I never managed to ride as fast as I wanted on the typical Spanish specials. Despite everything, I am very satisfied with my weekend, I am leaving as the leader in the E3 championship and 3rd overall. See you this coming weekend at the Val de Lorraine Classic."

Portuguese Enduro Championship:

The third round of the Portuguese Enduro Championship took place this past weekend in Santa Marta de Penaguião. It was the only round of the 2024 championship to feature two days of racing, with all others taking place on a single day.

The route featured a 48 km loop that had to be covered three times on Saturday and four times on Sunday. It was punctuated by three timed specials, an Enduro Test, a Cross Test and an Extreme.

Julien Roussaly had a good weekend, he placed fourth overall and second in E2 on both days and retains the lead in the championship.

Julien Roussaly: "At the beginning of the race I had difficulty finding my rhythm because I was opening the stage and my main competitors were starting far behind me, I lost a lot of time in the first round. On Sunday I was in the lead from the start of the race. A better choice of foam in my tires and new suspension settings allowed me to fight for the podium all day long. This race was a good omen for the opening of the World Cup in 3 weeks."

The fourth round will take place on April 21 in Monsaraz.

German Enduro Championship:

The second round of the German Enduro Championship took place this past weekend in Dahlen on a 79 km long route that was interspersed with two special stages. Jeremy Sydow set the fastest time in all eight stages, winning hands down in his category and in the scratch ranking! He finished more than a minute and a half ahead of the runner-up, Albin Norrbin, who was considered to be one of the favorites.

Jeremy Sydow: "I had a perfect day, setting the fastest time in all the specials. I am very satisfied with my riding, and I had excellent feelings on the bike. There are still two weeks of training left and we will finally start the GP season.  I'm really looking forward to it."

The next round of the German Enduro Championship will take place on the 27th and 28th of April in Großlöbichau.

French Regional Cup:

Ardèche hosted the French Enduro Regional Cup this Sunday on the commune of Saint-Marcel.

The exceptional weather made it possible to highlight all the work done by the volunteers. Spectators came in droves to witness this event. The riders faced a circuit on which the famous Ardèche stones proved as always to be extremely challenging.

Zach Pichon won the scratch ranking!

The next race for Zach, will be the opening of the FIM World Enduro Championship, April 5/6/7 in Fave, Portugal.
