Abarth 124 rally Selenia International Challenge: Remarkable performance of young driver Nicolas Ciamin in France

  • Abarth #124rally won 11 special stages out of 16 at the Rallye du Touquet (FR) scoring excellent times on absolute level.
  • Nicolas Ciamin is second in the R-GT ranking at the end of the race after a great comeback.
  • The Italian, Czech Republic and Romanian rally championships kick off next weekend.

Enthusiasm is running high after the promising performance of the Milano #racing team with the #abarth #124rally featuring the young driver Nicolas Ciamin and Thibault De La Haye, in the Rallye du Touquet, the event that kicked off the French championship. In France, Ciamin won 11 of the 16 tough special stages on the tarmac made even more treacherous by the presence of mud on the road. These conditions enhanced the capabilities of the #abarth #124rally, that can rely on customisable electronic controls also during the special stage according to the features of the road surface. Ciamin started the race in the lead taking advantage of the treacherous conditions but was held back by a technical problem and lost less than 3 minutes. The issue was solved and the driver put on a fierce comeback, scoring excellent times on absolute level.

The show offered by the rear-wheel-drive #abarth was highly appreciated by the French enthusiasts, who will have the opportunity to see it back in the race during the Rallye Lyon-Charbonnière, which will be the next appointment of the championship on April 19.

The other championships in which #abarth #124rally cars are competing in the scope of the #abarth124rallyseleniainternationalchallenge are starting next weekend, namely the Rally del Ciocco in Italy, the Valasska Rally in the Czech Republic with the Agrotec Team, and the Rally Brasov with Bernini Rally in Romania.

On April 13, the #abarth #124rally of the SMC Junior Motorsport team will be debuting in Spain at the Rallye Sierra Morena. Alberto Monarri and Rodrigo Sanjuán will be called to defend the R-GT title won last year by the team.
