FCA at the Dyck Castle "Classic Days”

Alfa Romeo and #fcaheritage are taking part in one of the most important events dedicated to #classic cars in Europe.  Representing the bond between past and present are the titled  1993 #alfaromeo 155 V6 Ti DTM from the #alfaromeo "Macchina del tempo" Museum in Arese and Giulia and Stelvio, the models which embody the new paradigm of the brand.

"Classic Days", the yearly meeting dedicated to the cars of yesteryear, will be staged from August 4 to 6 at the medieval castle of Schloss Dyck, not far from Düsseldorf, Germany. #fcaheritage, the department of the Group dedicated to protecting and promoting the history of the Italian FCA brands, and #alfaromeo will be taking part in the event to reassert the eternal link between the models of the past and those of the present.

The public will be able to admire cars of different ages, which all perfectly embody the values of the brand: performance, care for details and technical excellence. A Giulia Quadrifoglio and an #alfaromeo Stelvio, the first SUV of the brand, will be parading next to the #alfaromeo 155 V6 Ti DTM (1993). Both cars represent the new paradigm of the brand and offer distinctly Italian design with state-of-the-art engines, perfect weight distribution, one-of-a-kind technical solutions, excellent weight-to-power ratio and unique handling. What is more, both Giulia and Stelvio can proudly boast five prestigious Euro NCAP stars.

Alfa Romeo 155 V6 Ti DTM (1993)
The car belongs to the collection of the #alfaromeo Museum in Arese, dubbed the "Macchina del tempo". It competed in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft (DTM) which was by far the most prestigious touring car racing championship in the early nineties. At first, all competitors were exclusively German until 1993, when #alfaromeo decided to take part officially with the 155 V6 Ti driven by Alessandro Nannini and Nicola Larini and other cars entered by semi-official teams.
The debut was resounding: the 155 V6 Ti won both rounds in the first race in Zolder (Belgium). By the end of the season, Larini had won no fewer than 10 out of 20 races, which added to Nannini's two wins and the many podiums and good standings of the two Italians, secured the Constructors title for #alfaromeo and the Drivers title for Larini. It was nothing short of a shock for the Germans, who reluctantly accepted that the top level 1993 DTM championship had gone to an Italian brand in the year of its debut.

The car is part of the valuable #fcaheritage collection which counts a line-up of unique vehicles capable of catching the interest of experts and fans.
