Performances at the top for Pirelli in the Grand Prix of Germany of the FIM Motocross World Championship at Teutschenthal

Antonio Cairoli wins in MXGP and tries to escape in the Championship. Jeremy Seewer grabs the MX2 Grand Prix, while Pauls Jonass keeps the Red Plate

Teutschenthal (Germany), 22 May 2017Teutschenthal's “Talkessel” hosted the Grand Prix of Germany, eighth round of FIM Motocross World Championship. The German circuit is characterized by a medium-hard soil that has been even more insidious due to the heavy rains that hit the area on Friday evening before the race. The deep channels that marked the track during the weekend have put a strain on the tires, but all Pirelli riders have been able to count on the excellent performance of the SCORPION™ MX32™ Mid Soft front and rear, the tyres that allowed the Italian brand to get the full podium in both classes.

Antonio Cairoli and Jeffrey Herlings have scored the same points in MXGP but the sicilian won the overall thanks to the victory in the final race. With this result Cairoli has set to 44 points his leadership in the championship over Tim Gajser. Great third place for Gautier Paulin. The French rider is on the same position in the championship behind Gajser by just one point from. The defending champion crashed hard in qualification race but managed to gain 20 points in Germany. Romain Febvre closed MXGP's top five.

Jeremy Seewer took the victory in MX2 class. The factory Suzuki rider won the first race and had a good comeback in race 2. Second position belongs to teammate Hunter Lawrence who got on the podium for the first time in his career. Third place, with same points of Lawrence, for Pauls Jonass who kept the Red Plate in the Championship. Good achievements also for Thomas Covington, winner of race 2, and Thomas Kjer Olsen who finished fourth and fifth overall.

Next weekend the FIM Motocross World Championship will continue his run with the Grand Prix of France that will be hosted in Ernee circuit.
