FCA Heritage on parade at Villa d’Este Style

The event that celebrates one of the world's most iconic historic cars, the 6C 2500 SS "Villa d'Este", is back again this year. #fca #heritage will be present with another fantastic #alfaromeo: the "Alfetta 158" racer which won the first Formula 1 World Championship in 1950

The 2017 edition of "Villa d'Este Style" will be held at Cernobbio the day after tomorrow. For the first time this prestigious event, which brings together the few surviving #alfaromeo 6C 2500 SS "Villa d'Este" cars, will be open to the public, who will get the chance to admire the spectacular display of wonderful vehicles. Alongside the famous Berlinettas designed by Carrozzeria Touring, the event will welcome a star guest: the Gran Premio Tipo 158 "Alfetta", in which Giuseppe "Nino" Farina won the first Formula 1 World Championship in 1950. The car belongs to the collection of the Museo Storico #alfaromeo - La Macchina del Tempo in Arese.

The 6C 2500 SS Villa d'Este is the model that won the "Gran Premio per Referendum", or People's Choice Award, at the last edition of the Villa d'Este Concorso d'Eleganza in 1949, thanks above all to a style that marked the start of a new age in Italian #automotive design, with an amazing lightness of touch and balance.
While the 6C 2500 was gathering awards in the world's top competitions, the Alfetta 158 was chalking up victories in the new Formula 1 world championship: this single-seater's racing career began in 1938 and ended in 1951 with its final version, the "159", which also won the World Championship with Juan Manuel Fangio at the wheel. Amazingly, in 1950 #alfaromeo was leading the world both in the highest echelons of racing and in the construction of the most exquisite touring cars.

The prestigious event will also be an ideal backdrop for displaying the latest additions to the #alfaromeo stable, Stelvio and Giulia, the finest expression of "Engineering for the emotions". The #alfaromeo brand's first SUV combines unbeatable handling, top-flight performance and a sporty, individual style. The new sport utility vehicle is a distillation of all these features, encapsulating the genuine "Alfa spirit". The Giulia keeps faith with the #alfaromeo sports sedan tradition and offers state-of-the-art technical features, sophisticated contents and a distinctively Italian style. The bonnets of both cars conceal powerful, modern engines that represent the peak of FCA's propulsion technology.
