Osborne finishes on the podium at St. Louis SX!

The Rockstar Energy #husqvarna Factory #racing team battled a tough track on Saturday for the 13th round of the AMA #supercross series, held at The Dome at America’s Center in #stlouis, MO. #zachosborne overcame sickness by finishing third in 250SX East, Jason Anderson had a strong night with a steady fourth in the 450 class, and teammate Dean Wilson picked his way through the pack to finish 12th.

Zach Osborne, second in qualifying practice, pulled the holeshot in his heat race aboard his #husqvarna FC 250 and started pulling away. He stayed consistent and held strong to the finish, earning the first win of the night and an automatic transfer to the 250SX East main event. He was top-10 at the start in the main and cracked into the top-five by the second lap. Despite battling sickness, he continued to fight and soon made the pass for fourth then rocketed into third by the end of the fourth lap. He showed some serious speed and chased the top-two riders the remainder of the race, eventually finishing third. He is currently third overall in 250SX East rider point standings.

“Tonight was a pretty big surprise for me really,” said Osborne. “I had a stomach bug all week but I struggled my way back to health tonight. Around the fourth lap of practice I had a big crash and banged myself up pretty good so I sat out the second practice. I was in a good position to win in the main but I just ran out of steam in the end. I gave it my all so I’m not too disappointed."

Jason Anderson got the holeshot in his heat and held strong to the finish, earning a spot in the 450 main. He was third at the start of the main and immediately started fighting. After moving back to fourth he held it steady to the checkered flag to finish fourth. He is currently fifth overall in 450 rider point standings.

“I got off to a good start in my heat race,” said Anderson, “and from there I took the win. It was nice to get back on top. I figured I could keep the momentum going into the main event and got a pretty decent start. I just kind of got stuck there in fourth place and I couldn’t really make much happen. I still rode really solid. Those guys were fast out there tonight. I’ll come back swinging in Seattle."

Dean Wilson was top-10 at the start of his heat and started battling to get himself into qualifying position. He maintained his position in sixth before making a late race pass into fifth where he finished. He lined up for the semi and got a top-five start before going down in the turn before the triple, forcing him to earn his transfer position through the 450 LCQ. He got the holeshot in the LCQ, pulled away from the rest of the field, and finished strong to earn the win and a spot in the main. His appearance in the LCQ didn’t give him the best gate pick for the main, causing him to start farther back in the pack. He charged through the pack to finish 12th. He is currently 10th overall in 450 rider point standings.

“All-in-all it was a good learning experience for me,” said Wilson. “I was sixth in timed qualifying, and rode quite well in my heat race, but was one spot out of qualifying. I fell in the semi so I was pretty bummed about that because I had to go to the LCQ. The LCQ was good, but then I had the far outside gate in the main. I did the best I could at the start, but it didn’t really work. I slowly picked through the pack and made it out with a 12th. I made some decent passes but was just a little slow at the beginning. I’ll learn from it and will do better next weekend."

The team will now make its way to Seattle, WA for the 14th round of the series where Martin Davalos will make his return in the 250SX West class.
