In the spotlight

  • The new #ibiza, SEAT’s star attraction at the Geneva Motorshow, spins on a turntable around 600 times a day so it can be seen from every angle

  • 200 spotlights illuminate the eleven vehicles on display to highlight their design

  • A traditional wax seal guarantees secrecy during transport of the confidential models

The new #ibiza, the fifth generation of this iconic model, is the star attraction on the #seat stand at the Geneva Motorshow. Find out about what goes into getting a car ready for the sector’s most important international #event:

- 600 turns per day, at the centre of attention: The new #ibiza is displayed on a constantly rotating turntable at the centre of the stand. It will spin a total of about 600 times per day so that it can be admired from every angle.

- 200 spotlights to make a shining statement: 200 spotlights illuminate the #seat stand in Geneva so that the lines of all the models can be admired exactly as they have been designed.

- 11 cars on the field and a twin on the bench: In addition to the 11 cars on display, a twin model of the star attraction is also transported, the new #seat #ibiza. Furthermore, a team of professionals with spare parts and paint is on hand to make sure that in case of any unforeseen #event, the vehicles are displayed in perfect conditions.

- Millimetric precision: 36 hours before the doors to the motorshow open, a team from Production and Quality is in charge of placing each vehicle in its exact location, studied beforehand for months in 3D. With the cars in place, they rotate the wheels by hand until all the logos line up perfectly.

- 360° perfection: All area heads involved with the model carefully circle the entire car to check that it is ready to be displayed: the harmony of the paint, the exterior and interior trim, and the accuracy of each level surface and flush all give this car the utmost precision and perfection.

- By land, sea and air: The eleven cars are transported by road from Martorell to Geneva; 800 kilometres under special dust covers. When the motorshows are held overseas, the vehicles are even flown or shipped to the location.

- A sealed envelope to ensure secrecy: A special padlocked cover and a traditional wax seal guarantee that a confidential model remains a secret until the #event. The keys to the car are also transported in a sealed envelope in the same manner.

- 12 km without ever leaving the stand: The hustle and bustle behind preparing a motorshow does not end when the doors finally open. This is confirmed by the 12 kilometres that a professional from the Marketing team walks every day of the #event without ever leaving the #seat stand.
