Peugeot at EICMA 2016

The oldest two-wheel motorized brand in the world, present in 70 countries with 3,000 points of sale, the #peugeot Scooters brand is today a key player in the market and unveils its 2017 range on the occasion of the 74th edition of the #eicma (stand C37, Hall 6).

On a European market down slightly, #peugeot Scooters maintains its market share in the 50cc and solidly confirms its position as the second brand in Europe thanks to the performances in France, Spain and Germany.

The 125cc & more market enjoys a renewed dynamism with growth of 4.2% at end-September 2016. Driven by a Spanish growing market, #peugeot Scooters improves its performance with a market share up to 5% of the European market.

As for three-wheel, the Lion brand imposes itself as a key player in improving perennially its position thanks to the good performance of its model #peugeot Metropolis (21% market share in Europe at the end of September 2016).
With a strategy which always has been oriented to innovation, #peugeot Scooters invented in 1982 the plastic body #scooter, in 1996 the zero emission electric #scooter and was the first manufacturer to fit a 125cc #scooter with ABS braking system.

In 2017, a pivotal year in technology with the implementation of the Euro 4 standard, #peugeot Scooters continues its upmarket strategy and internationalization through a range of 10 models including 2 completely new covering 50cc needs to 400cc.
After announcing a novelty per year as part of its 3 years #product development plan (2017-2019), #peugeot Scooters introduces from 2017 an extra novelty, reaffirming its commitment to go upmarket to support its development plan in Europe and abroad.

This range of policy articulates around four axes:

  • Product innovation up to Euro 4 standards and deployment of ABS on the range 125cc and more,

  • Technological innovation with a new engine 125cc compact powerful SmartMotion, virtuous and modular,

  • Major range developments including #peugeot Metropolis, with the launch of two new models and animations on the existing range that will create the trend,

  • Internationalization: with a successful implementation in Indonesia this year, #peugeot Scooters continues its conquest of Asia with the launch of the brand in Vietnam, on October 26th, 2016.
