Abarth success in the home country of founder Karl for the #racing cars of the Scorpion brand that literally invaded the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, with the fifth race of the #abarth Selenia Trophy and the fifth date of the ADAC-Abarth F4 Championship powered by #abarth.
Overall, 60 pilots powered by #abarth stole the show on the demanding Austrian racetrack, with heavily fought races. In the #abarth Selenia Trophy, starring the #abarth 695 Assetto Corse Evoluzione and the #abarth 595 OT, Italian pilot Cosimo Barberini recorded a double victory, jumping into the lead of the general championship rankings, ahead of Swedish Joakim Darbom and Italian Alex Campani.
The two spectacular races excited the vast audience on the stands, who was also able to see three amazing stages of the fifth race of the ADAC-Abarth F4 Championship powered by #abarth, with over 40 single-seaters Tatuus powered by #abarth on the starting line, driven by very young pilots coming from kart #racing. Among them the young Mick Schumacher, who achieved second position with an exciting comeback in Race3 and thus keeps the runner up position in the general rankings of the German series, still led by the Australian pilot Joey Mawson. Reflecting the global character of the championship, the three races were won by Austrian pilot Thomas Preining, Australian Mawson and Finnish Simo Laaksonen.
Sporting results aside, the Austrian weekend was a great #abarth party also for fans, who were able to test drive the new 595 range. Available in three different trim levels (595, 595 Turismo and 595 Competizione) and as many engine sizes, the car is able to meet the satisfaction of increasingly knowledgeable and demanding customers. Many of the upgrades introduced are the result of experience gained with the development of the 695 Biposto, the "smallest supercar" that offers the thrills and technology of a real #racing car on a road car.
The other major attraction was the #abarth 124 Rally, exhibited in the hospitality stand and equally admired by the Trophy pilots and the many fans of the brand.
The next date with the #abarth Selenia Tropy is at the Roman Vallelunga circuit on 10th and 11th September. Meanwhile, the ADAC-Abarth F4 Championship powered by #abarth has two new dates: Nurburgring on 7th and Zandvoort on 21st August, in The Netherlands.
