Brembo brake systems enhance show cars at NAIAS

Brembo, the world leader and acknowledged innovator of brake technology made its debut at Detroit’s North American International #auto Show (NAIAS) in January 2016. In addition to showcasing in its booth more than 30 brake #components, including new improved ventilated discs, electro-mechanical parking brakes and interactive disc concepts and the innovative, fully electric Brake By Wire concept system, #brembo products were fitted on more than 50 vehicles displayed by the world’s global automotive manufacturers at Cobo Center. Cars like the Ford GT are calling attention with custom red Brembo-branded calipers; the Chevrolet Corvette C7 features yellow calipers while the blue Viper ACR was fitted with red calipers. “Brembo produces high-quality products that are highly stylized as well,” Dan Sandberg, president and chief executive officer, #brembo North America. “Our products are selected by the OEMs because of those two factors. We work daily with our OEM partners to develop new, custom colors to enhance the look of the vehicles as well as functionality and design.” In Brembo’s booth, the first display features Brembo’s stylized high performance and street calipers along with the latest in carbon ceramic material brake discs for the ultimate in stopping power. The recently introduced, award-winning eight-piston aluminum B-M8 caliper, an aftermarket brake specifically designed for the front braking systems of trucks, SUVs and large high-performance sedans, sits alongside six-piston aluminum calipers for the Mercedes-Benz AMG GLE63, Dodge Charger Hellcat and Chevrolet Corvette Z07, atop a dual cast disc with overcast aluminum hat, a two-piece floating disc and a Carbon Ceramic Material (CCM) disc, respectively. Known for its high performance braking systems, #brembo was the originator of the colored caliper. The Italian based company also displays on one wall of the booth 12 calipers that feature seven different colors. On the other wall seven discs show the different compounds and coatings #brembo uses on its discs. Visitors to the booth also can vote for their favorite style and design of three concept discs that #brembo is currently developing. This is the first time that #brembo, with North American Headquarters and Technical Center based in nearby Plymouth, Michigan, has exhibited its products at #naias. Its booth includes the all-new Ferrari 488 GTB. The Ferrari 488 GTB is the only car being displayed by the Italian car manufacturer at this year’s #detroit show. #brembo and Ferrari have a 40-year relationship; #brembo first equipped the Ferrari Formula 1 car in 1975, marking Brembo’s first racing brake system and debut in motorsports.
