Peugeot Scooters at EICMA 2015

After 2015, a year rich in events marked by entry into 51% of the capital by the Indian manufacturer Mahindra, the launch of the Django 50 retro scooter and the arrival of the new Speedfight 4, PEUGEOT Scooters is coming to Milan with a catalogue of 10 models ranging from 50 to 400 cm3. In 2016, the make is continuing its offensive for ramping up its product line with a rejuvenated offer, 40% of the models having been launched in the last two years.

On a European market for 50 cm3 scooters down by nearly 6% at the end of October, PEUGEOT Scooters is soundly positioned at second place on the continent and is maintaining its leadership in France in the largest market in Europe where Kisbee, the best- selling model on the market, and Citystar, leader in the segment of GT compacts, largely contribute to this fine commercial performance.

For its part, PEUGEOT Scooters has shown a sharp increase on the market for >50 scooters. It progressed +5.7% during the first ten months of the year thanks to an offer of 6 models able to meet 90% of the needs on the market from 125 to 400 cm3, both for 2- wheel and 3-wheel models.

In 2016, PEUGEOT Scooters is showing true dynamism by unveiling an ambitious 4-act programme:

  • -  Ramping up its product line, first of all, with an enriched 2016 catalogue and products that are ever more better equipped;

  • -  Design, next, by creating a concept a unique concept on the basis of Django with the lifestyle trademark Deus Ex Machina

  • -  Sport, with the make’s commitment to the Moto3TM world speed championship, marking its return to the highest level in competition;

  • -  Environment, finally, with the test presentation of an electric GenZe 2.0 scooter available in the United States through the American subsidiary of the Mahindra group, Mahindra GenZe.

Mr Frédéric FABRE, Managing Director of PEUGEOT Scooters, will announce news about the make and objectives for 2016 at a press conference scheduled for Tuesday 17 November 2015 at 3 p.m. at the PEUGEOT Scooters stand in Hall 11.

The PEUGEOT Scooters product line now includes 10 models ranging from 50 to 400 cm3: from the vintage cycle for small budgets to the hi-tech 3-wheel scooter including sports scooters and retro scooters, the make has a catalogue that enables it to cover all segments of the market by meeting the needs of both male and female clients.

Proposing a major novelty every year since 2010, PEUGEOT Scooters now have a totally renewed product line, half of which is less than two years old. 2015 was no exception to the rule, since Django 50, launched in the spring, boosted the success of the retro and Speedfight 4 product line, with the fourth opus of the saga launched this summer brilliantly renewing the sporty look of the make with the Lion.

In 2016, the product line is thus evolving smoothly, mainly with the arrival of several ever more premium special series, adding style to the graphic design and enamelling and introducing new colours including Satin Technium, a satin grey with a sporty and elegant look that will be the star colour of the 2016 collection.

KISBEE 50
This is THE bestseller in Europe on the 50 segment. With its contained price, its low floorboard, its vast boot under the seat and its exceptional driveability, the small 2T/4T compact scooter in the PEUGEOT product line has been spruced up in 2016 by adorning itself with a new 3D logo on the classic models as well as with a more graphic looking instrument panel. The classic product line is completed with the arrival of a very elegant model in Satin Technium matched with a burgundy- coloured seat. Already available in the catalogue, the special Kisbee RS series is joined by a new special series called Kisbee SPORTLINE, distinguished by its plain deco coupe available in 3 glossy or satin colours, its forward Shuricane disc and its metallic handlebar end pieces.

SPEEDFIGHT IV 50
The legend of the sporty 50 scooter has passed 600,000 units since its launch nearly 20 years ago in 1996. An uncontested success that led to the launch of the 4th opus of the saga last summer with a product line structure that was already well supplied, available in 2T air and liquid and 4T air. To the classic version available in 3 colours are added 3 special series: DARKRSIDE, ICEBLADE and PURE, largely inspired by the universe of sports motorcycles. In 2016, Speedfight 50 TOTAL SPORT has just completed the product range with the only special series in a flat colour, playing on grey and black shades. A richly equipped scooter with its specific deco, its inverted cartridge-shaped muffler, its perforated Shuricane maxi-discs, its aluminium foot rests, its pearly-coloured seat shell as well as its smartphone support and its 12V and USB connexions.

DJANGO 50/125/150

Inspired by the mythic S55 and S57, Django reinterprets with style and modernity the most famous PEUGEOT scooters of the 1950s. With the launch of the Django 50 in the spring, the product line, which is now complete, includes 3 capacities: 50, 125 and 150. With 4 universes capable of satisfying all tastes – HERITAGE, SPORT, EVASION and ALLURE – the product range is enriched with a special new series for 2016 with Django S, a sober variant of Django SPORT: with its flat Mad Black colour stamped in a large S on a chrome background, it surfs on the trend in black, proposing an entirely flat version enhanced with a few touches of chrome along the body trim, the muffler covering, the rear handle and the rear view mirror casings. The king of customisation, Django offers a range of 22 colours and in particular the incredible Django ID configurator, making it possible to create a tailor-made scooter with more than 100,000 possible combinations.

TWEET EVO 50/125/150

Irresistibly tailored for the city, this scooter, as elegant as it is light, is equipped with 16’’ wheels offering a remarkable feel on the road. Very agile, Tweet Evo displays all its qualities when traffic is heavy, going where others stop, handicapped by their size. As airy as it is elegant, Tweet Evo adds to all its dynamic aptitudes true practical advantages with a flat floorboard and a boot under the seat able to hold a crash helmet. In 2016, the classic product line welcomes two new colours that are particularly chic: the first, Satin Iron Grey, is matched with a very chic burgundy-coloured seat. The technical parts such as the tyre rims, the fork tubes, the passenger handle and the exhaust, are black so as to be in keeping with the codes of elegance. The second, Light Blue, is a more feminine metallic colour: while the tyre rims are black on this version, the fork, the passenger handle and the muffler cover keep their metal grey colour.

For the Italian market, where nearly one scooter out of is equipped with large wheels, PEUGEOT Scooters proposes two special series with radically opposed looks: on the one hand, Tweet Evo PARIS, which pays homage to the French capital with a specific decor affixed to the front body panel. Equipped with a 30L top-case able to store a full-sized crash helmet and a large enamelled windscreen against wind and bad weather, it is also sold with a shopping bag (designed by an Italian creator JADISE): the same Light Blue colour as the chassis, this canvas bag with the Champ de Mars and the Eiffel Tower printed on it is offered with the purchase of the vehicle. On the other hand, Tweet Evo DOUBLE BLACK emphasises style and style alone. No top-case or windscreen, but a sober elegance with a completely pearly black skirt and a discreet logo – particularly discreet, terribly efficient!

CITYSTAR 50/125/200

Citystar offers an excellent compromise between services and price, and it is particularly at ease in urban environments. Fully compliant with the regulations, practical with its low floorboard and vast boot able to store two crash helmets, agile with its steering angle close to 100°, it is not by chance that it is the leader in the GT compact <50 segment in France. To boost its leadership, it broadens its offer with a special new series, Citystar RS 50, embellished with renewed aesthetic codes in red. In 125, it is endowed with the best weight/power ratios on the market thanks to its liquid-cooled 4-stroke 4-valve LFE engine.

SATELIS 125/400

Available in 125 and 400, Satelis is equipped with ‘house’ engines. It is trying out a new RS special series on its 2-cylinder motors with a deco that passes to red and specific equipment such as a sports seat with red stitching, a sports aero screen and aluminium foot rests. In series, it offers an on-board electronic computer for measuring instant consumption and computing average consumption, aspherical rear view mirrors, forward 260 mm maxi-discs (double in 400) and a vast boot with automatic opening by power cylinder able to store two full-sized crash helmets – one of the best-equipped and most polyvalent GT scooters on the market.

METROPOLIS 400
2 years after its arrival on the market, the most technological of the 3-wheel scooters stands out as a serious reference: aluminium front axle, DRL, key with hand-free starting, adjustable windscreen, electronic detector for under-inflation of the tyres – difficult to rival as far as equipment goes! Available in the classic product line in 4 colours, it renews the plain coupe Blue Line series inspired by the 208 and 308 GTi by PEUGEOT Sport. 2016 novelty – the RS special series whose deco, as on the Citystar and Satelis families, goes from orange to red. In addition, the seat has red stitching, a tinted sports aero screen and black wheel rims. The stainless steel sports muffler adds to the athletic nature of the RS sports label.
